Bosozuki is Japanese cyberpunk slang for “Street Samurai.” We are a design firm specializing in the development of computer and board games. Our design philosophy centers on the singular idea: “The player is the story.” The player’s motivations, decisions, actions, reactions, and the game world’s motivations, decisions, actions, reactions, are together the player’s unique story. “The player is the story,” represents a fundamental change in modern game development, but harkens back to an era of game design that was seen in “stat driven dungeon crawlers/world exploration” and immersive sims.

Bosozuki was founded by Dr. Joseph Qualls in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. The company was officially launched in October 2018 at the Lake City Comicon with the soft announcement of WinterCypher the video game and boardgame.
